7. Close the Perspex transparent cover
8. Choose the Protocol.
9. Choose the Program.
10. Choose whether to include or exclude the Fixation phase (heated fixation). As this is included as
default, select “Exclude” if not required to skip it. Milestone recommends to include the heating
fixation phase in the process to standardize the results (figure above).
11. Interval check status: in the hours and minutes fields enter the frequency you wish to apply to
audible notifications (only during the decalcification phase), to check the status of the samples. If you
wish to disable audible notifications, disable the ‘interval check status’ option.
12. Choose starting by selecting: “GO” or “GO DELAY” (for details see chapter 3.2.6).
13. The RUN SUMMARY screen appears, showing different information according to parameters
previously selected. See examples below.
14. Now press “START RUN” to start the program.
15. AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE APPEARS; read carefully and press OK to start the process.
In fact, to assure safety of samples, it is necessary that operator stays close to the unit at
the beginning of any new process, until loading of the first reagent is completed and the
graph is displayed on the screen.
