MIG Manager
®
is a MIG-welding torch with the
possibility of controlling the MIGATRONIC FLEX- and
SIGMA/SIGMA GALAXY/FLEX
2
-welding machines
externally. Set values can be read-out in a display.
The MIGATRONIC FLEX- and SIGMA/SIGMA
GALAXY/FLEX
2
-welding machines must be equipped
with a MIG Manager
®
connection kit (special
equipment), and updated/ configured with MIG
Manager
®
software.
Connection and start-up
Configuration
Migatronic disclaims all responsibility for damage to
cables and welding hoses and other damage related
to welding with undersized welding hoses and welding
cables measured by welding specifications, e.g. in
relation to permissible load.
Important!
In order to avoid damage to
plugs and cables, good electrical
contact is required when
connecting earth cable and
welding hose to the machine.
Cable plugs must be tightened
carefully.
Correct installation of the contact tip
To ensure fine welding properties and to minimize
wear of the contact tip, good contact between contact
tip and tip adaptor as well as good electrical contact
between contact tip and welding wire are important.
Choose a contact tip with a diameter that suits the
wire. Please note: the contact tip must be equipped
with a suitable torque, ensuring good contact to the tip
adaptor. In case of insufficient contact, the contact tip
will soon be damaged by too high temperature.
Connection of welding hose
for MIG/MAG welding
Press the welding hose assembly into the central
connector coupling and tighten the nut at the end of
the hose by hand. If a watercooled welding hose is
used, connect both hoses to the red and blue quick-
release fittings. Connect the return current cable to the
negative pole.
The multiplug is connected to the plug at the front of
the welding machine.
Fault symbols
"----"
shown in the display indicates that the machine
is not ready to interface with the torch. This means
that it is not possible to switch between read-out in
display and change of settings from the torch before
the fault symbol disappears.
Normally, the information is shown during start-up but
disappears when the machine is ready for welding and
has identified torch, type and model.
If the information still continues, it is recommended
that authorised staff checks wire connections in the
MIG Manager plug.
Operation
Please read the FLEX Quick Guide page 15 and the
SIGMA/SIGMA GALAXY/FLEX

Quick Guide page 16
and instruction manuals conc. the different settings.
The FLEX-machine range:
The following functions can be connected/
disconnected from the welding torch.
1a. Quattro, if the machine is a FLEX 3000
1b. Pulse, if the machine is a FLEX 4000/5000
2. Sequence
3. Tack
(an automatically disconnection of the
function is activated when the sequence
function is selected)
Following settings can be set from the welding torch:
1. Welding current (machine min – max)
2. Voltage trim ±9,9 V
