An unsatisfactory drying result
Problem
Possible cause
Remedy
The laundry is not
sufficiently dry.
The load consisted of
different fabrics.
– Final drying cycle with
Warm air
.
– Select a different
programme next time.
Tip: You can alter the drying
levels for some
programmes.
See "Programmable
functions".
Garments or
downfilled pillows
develop an
unpleasant odour
due to tumble
drying.
– Not enough laundry
detergent was used
during washing.
– Feathers have the
tendency to develop a
characteristic odour
when exposed to heat.
– Garments: Use sufficient
laundry detergent.
– Pillows: Air pillows
outside the tumble dryer.
Items made of
synthetic fibres are
charged with static
electricity after
drying.
Synthetic fibres tend to
attract a static charge.
Static charge can be
reduced by adding a fabric
softener to the final rinse in
the washing programme or
a fabric conditioner sheet to
the load when drying.
There is a build-up of
fluff.
Fluff is principally the result
of friction when garments
are being worn and to some
extent when they are being
washed. While fluff
detaches itself during
drying, very little of it forms
in the tumble dryer.
Fluff is collected by the fluff
filters and can be easily
removed (see "Cleaning
and Care").
