7.1. Error in the Print Process
Defect
Printer does not work
Repeated paper jam
Remedies
- Check the power supply, switch on the device.
If your printer is not responding, first make
sure:
•
The power cord is plugged into the printer
and a properly grounded electrical outlet.
•
The electrical outlet is not turned off by any
switch or breaker.
•
Other electrical equipment plugged into the
outlet is working.
•
The printer is turned on.
•
The printer cable is securely attached to the
printer and the host computer, print server,
option, or other network device.
Once you’ve checked each of these
possibilities, turn the printer off and back on.
This often fixes the problem.
- Make sure all covers of the device (e.g. front
cover) are completely closed.
- Read any error messages in the control panel
(see section 7.3).
- Refill paper feeders with paper of suitable size
(see chapter 3).
- After any paper jam, make sure all the jammed
paper has been removed completely from the
paper paths.
- Carefully read the information in section
7.4: Print Media Jam.
If the remedies above are not successful please switch off the device and contact
a MICROPLEX authorized service engineer.
