Possible Solutions
The system isn’t producing
any sound.
• The speakers may not be plugged into the surge protector or the power outlet correctly.
Check if the power cable is plugged in firmly and correctly.
• The speakers may not be turned on. Make sure that the speakers are turned on. If you have
a sub woofer, it may have accidentally been turned off or unplugged.
• The audio levels may be adjusted incorrectly. In the Windows
Volume Control
screen, make
sure the volume levels are turned up, and the volume isn’t muted. For information on finding
and using Windows
Volume Control
, access
Windows Help
by pressing [F1] while you are
viewing the desktop.
• The speakers may not be functioning. Plug the speakers into the headphone jack located on
the CD-ROM drive. Then try playing an audio CD on the computer. If the speakers don’t
produce sound, you may need to replace the speakers.
• If the speakers work when plugged into the CD-ROM headphone jack, try plugging the
speakers into each jack on the sound card or each I/O connector that the speakers fit into.
The speakers produce a loud
squeal when the volume is

• The microphone may not be muted in
