Chapter 1: Introduction

Inside this Manual

This manual is intended as a guide for the operator of the LV1 (Low Volume) Series Microfluidizer®
materials processor. It contains 5 chapters and 5 appendices. Chapter 1 gives an introduction to
this manual and how to find additional support. Chapter 2 offers a general overview to the
Microfluidizer with a description of the specific parts of the machine you will want to identify for
operation. Chapter 3 explains proper installation and operation procedures. Chapter 4 contains a
general description of the maintenance of the LV1 Series Microfluidizer equipment. Chapter 5
contains troubleshooting information which will help you obtain the best possible results with your
processor. The appendices include a drawings list, tool & spare parts list, options list, fluid
compatibility tables, and a Mobil product data sheet.
