1.
Turn on the
Master Power On/Off
switch at the rear of the LV1.
2.
Press the blue
Reset
button located on the control panel.
3.
Rotate the
Mode
switch to the
Jog
position. The motor should turn on. Press and hold
the
Extend
button for about 15 seconds to fully extend the piston.
4.
Rotate the
Mode
switch to the
Run
position, and wait until the
Ready
light turns on,
causing the motor to turn off automatically.
5.
While pressing and holding the
Extend
button and looking at the Process Pressure
Gauge, turn the Process Pressure Adjustment knob to set the process pressure.
6.
Dial in required pressure and be sure to add 10% to the required pressure. For
example, if 20,000 psi is the required pressure, the unit should be set to about 22,000
psi. For priming, set the pressure to about 10,000 psi.
7.
Refer to drawing #801.00115 on the CD. Fill the inlet reservoir/syringe (1) (located on
the left when facing the unit), and attach it to the inlet tube (5) via the luer fitting.
Depress the inlet reservoir/syringe to inject the priming liquid into the pump head.
Liquid may flow out of the outlet/discharge tube. Attach the outlet syringe (1)
(located on the right when facing the unit), to the outlet tube, making sure that the
syringe's piston is bottomed out.
8.
Switch to
Jog
mode and wait about 10 seconds for the hydraulic system to unload (this
will generate an audible sound that will cease upon completion).
9.
While pressing and holding the
Retract
button, depress the reservoir/inlet syringe to
force fluid into the pump head. The fluid in the reservoir will be pulled in rapidly. Be
sure there is sufficient fluid in the reservoir to supply the pump head.
10.
When the piston is fully retracted, rotate the
Mode
switch to the
Run
position.
11.
When the Ready light comes on, press and hold the Extend button for about 2 seconds
to initiate a high pressure stroke.
12.
Repeat steps 3 through 12 until the fluid stream purges out the air.
13.
Rotate the
Mode
switch back to the
Off
position.
14.
Turn off the
Master Power On/Off
switch.
Operating the Equipment
WARNING: BEFORE THE HIGH PRESSURE STROKE, BE SURE THE PISTON OF THE OUTLET
SYRINGE IS FULLY PUSHED INTO THE BORE OF THE SYRINGE, ELSE THE PISTON MAY BE SHOT
OUT AND INJURY MAY OCCUR. DO NOT ALLOW THE OUTLET SYRINGE TO OVERFILL!
