This manual provides unpacking and installation instructions
for EXL 1000 series UPS Extended Battery cabinets:
EXL1076, EXL1077, EXL1101 and EXL1102. Please retain
this manual for future reference.
There are special tools and material needed to properly
install and connect the extended battery cabinets. (See table
1-1 for details).

The extended battery cabinets are shipped attached to a
wooden base with a box strapped to the wood. Move the
crated extended battery cabinet near the installation area of
the UPS using a pallet jack. Remove straps and lift the box
from the base, then remove the bolts from beneath the base
that fasten the cabinet to the base. (See figure 1-1)
Items needed for the connection of the extended battery
cabinet to the EXL 1000 UPS are contained within the
extended battery cabinet housing. (See table 1-1 for details
on tools and extra material needed). Remove top cover of
cab and take out any loose items. Be sure there are no loose
parts remaining inside the cabinet before installation.
1.2 Unpacking
Tools Material Description
Flat blade screw driver
*.75" dia. flexiable conduit, (recommend 3/4 inch, liquid tight
flexible conduit, "Ultratight" series by Alfelx)
Torx driver set
.75" dia. conduit fittings: quantity 2, (recommend 3/4 inch,
liquid tight conduit fitting by, Thomas & Betts p/n 5233)
Channel Locks
*#6 gauge wire, 75°C min
Wire cutters
*#6 gauge green/yellow wire, 75°C min
Tin snipps
red electrical tape
Rachet and socket set (metric)
*Length dependant upon distance between battery cabinet and UPS
