Startup Procedure
BEFORE you start the machine, refer to the images on the following page for location and
identification of the operational and visual controls pertaining to the operation of the machine.
Once you have identified all locations, check the following prior to start-up:
1. Engine oil level
2. Hydraulic tank oil level
3. Fuel level in gas tank
4. The fuel valve is in the open position
5. Condition of all air and oil filters
6. Perform/verify daily maintenance procedures (see
Maintenance Section under the
Service and Adjustments heading)
7. Verify the slinger roller lever is in the neutral position
After your thorough inspection of the above-mentioned items you are ready to start the
machine. Follow the below procedure for starting:
1. Turn the ignition switch key clockwise to the ON position.
2. Turn the engine switch to the START position and
immediately release the key when the engine starts.
3. Let the engine and hydraulic components warm up for 5
minutes before operating the machine.
NEVER hold the key in the start position for more than 5 seconds. This can damage the starter
or the engine and should always be avoided. If the engine fails to start, release the key and
wait at least 10 seconds before operating the starter again.
