Proceed as follows to assemble the optionally available GC auxiliary elec-

Glassy carbon is a brittle, very fragile material; proceed with cau-
tion when inserting it into the electrode holder and handling it.

In the event the GC rod breaks, the remaining part in the holder
can be removed by pulling out the retaining ring
