4.2.3.1.1 Basic Test Parameters
The basic test, whether run at layer 2 or layer 3 uses the parameters defined for the
SLA. Testing at layer 2 will be directed to the defined Remote MAC address, whilst
layer 3 testing will address a remote IP address.
4.2.3.1.1.1 Test Peer
Before any test may be run a remote loopback unit, or “peer” must be selected using
the test peer menu as shown for both Layer 2 and 3:

Layer
The NT10G05 basic test mode supports testing at the following layers:
L2
At layer 2 the test is performed across a single broadcast domain network
with the destination loopback device being addressed directly at the MAC
layer.
