5. 2 Power-Up Sequence
When the FM4900 is powered up, it performs several system tests. After a few seconds the
start-up screen is shown on the terminal. Figure 5.1 below is an example only:

In order to check or change any of the operating parameters, you will first need to gain
access to the FM4900's software by logging in. Press any key, and a logon message will be
displayed:

There are two levels of user - Observer, or Operator. If you type
VIEW
as the password, you
will only be able to look at the current settings, and will not be able to change any of them. If
you enter the correct operator password, you can change any parameters that are not
defined as read-only.
The default operator password is the same as the model number, i.e.
FM4900
. When you
have entered this once, you will be able to change the password if you wish, as described in
Section 6.3. When you enter the appropriate password, you will be presented with the
MAIN
SET-UP
menu. All of the FM4900's operating parameters are accessed through this initial
menu.
