TROUBLE POSSIBLE CAUSES WHAT TO DO

ELECTRIC OVEN
No heating: no power; check that the appliance is be-
ing powered.
A temperature is set but
the oven won’t turn on: safety thermostat has
tripped; reset the thermostat.
Uneven cooking
(strong difference in
food colour): selector switch position is
wrong or unsuitable for the
desired cooking method choose a suitable selector
switch position to produce heat
from the oven top and bottom as
required according to the cook-
ing method you intend to use;
product divided into pieces
that have different sizes or
thicknesses; to ensure cooking evenness,
spread food over the entire bak-
ing pan evenly. In the case of
solid foodstuffs, all the pieces
should have --as much as possi-
ble-- the same size, number of
layers or thickness;
wire shelves not horizontal; level the appliance and check
that the wire shelves are hori-
zontal using the adjustable feet:
such operation is essential to
ensure even cooking;
one of the two heating ele-
ments is faulty; replace it (refer to the chap-
ters on how to replace heating
elements).
HOT CUPBOARD
No heating: no power; check that the appliance is be-
ing powered.
A temperature is set but
the hot cupboard won’t
turn on: thermostat faulty; replace it;
heating element faulty; replace it (see chapter "Re-
placing the hot cupboard
heating element" in section
"Service").
