Auxiliary menu functions allow the user access to editable parameters
such as clock time and date, test routine duration, error inject rates and
gain settings. Auxiliary functions are accessed through the AUX up/down
arrow keys. The blue up/down and left/right arrow keys located under
FRAME and PATTERN provide navigation control within an auxiliary
setup. The blue EXIT key located under LINE CODE exits the auxiliary
menu and returns the test set to the default RESULTS display.
00 Monitor Jack Gain
Protected monitor ports have built-in, fixed attenuation. The BERT-20E1
can adjust its receiver amplifier to compensate for the attenuation.
Settings include: NONE, 12dB, 30dB.
01 Test Length
The test length may be configured for continuous or a fixed test length.
Use 0s to program the test time for a continuous test. The maximum test
length is 999 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.
The TEST LENGTH menu can only be accessed when operating in the
AUTO, F x 56, F x 64, LLB or TLB modes of operation.
02 Error Inject Rates
The errori inject auxiliary menu is used to inject Logic, BPV and CRC4
errors at specific intervals from 5E-3 to 1E-7. FAS error inject can be
inserted at 1IN4, 2IN4, 3IN4 and ALL (4IN4) rates. Single error injection
occurs when Logic, BPV and FAS/CRC4 error selection menu is set to
OFF.
The ERROR INJECT RATE menu can only be accessed when operating in
the NORM, AUTO, F x 56, F x 64, D/I, LLB or TLB modes.
03 User Pattern [1]
The user pattern [1] is a user defined patterns that is 32-bits in length
and is transmitted from left to right. 1 to 32 bits may be defined. The "<"
arrow on line 4 of the LCD display serves as a reminder for the direction
the pattern is transmitted and received.
The USER PATTERN menu can only be accessed when operating in the
NORM, AUTO, F x 56, F x 64, D/I, LLB or TLB modes.
04 User Pattern [2]
The User Pattern [2] is a user defined patterns that is 32-bits in length
and is transmitted from left to right.
05 Time of Day
The BERT-20E1 has an on-board real time TOD clock. The TOD clock
helps synchronize the test results and also serves as a time stamp when
printing test results. The clock is configured for 24 hour format. The
hours and minutes field are the only fields editable. The second’s field
will always return to (0) zero when the hours or minutes fields have
changed.
06 Day and Date
The 20E1 will also keep up with the day and date. The day and date
serves as an additional stamp when printing test results.
