Read the operating instructions carefully before use!
Save the operating instructions for future reference
• If you do not follow the safety information and instructions, you could experience electric shocks,
severe injury or cause a fire
• The term ’power tool’, which is used in the safety information, refers to both mains-powered
tools and battery-powered tools
SAFETY AT WoRK
• Keep your work area in good order and ensure there is sufficient lighting Untidy and badly lit
work areas can cause accidents
• Do not use the power tool in explosive atmospheres where there are flammable liquids,
flammable gases or combustible dust present Power tools can cause sparks, which can in turn
cause the dust or vapours to ignite
• Ensure that there are no children or other people in the vicinity when you are using the power
tool Distractions can lead you to lose control of the power tool
ELEcTRIcAL SAFETY
• The power tool’s plug must fit properly into the power socket You must not alter the plug Never
use adapter plugs with earthed power tools Altered plugs and faulty sockets increase the risk of
fires
• Avoid contact with grounded surfaces, for example pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded
• Protect the power tool from rain and damp Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock
• Do not use the cable to carry or hang up the power tool Also do not pull on the cable to pull the
plug out of the socket Ensure that the cable is protected from heat and that it does not come
into contact with oil, wet surfaces or the tool’s moving parts Damaged and tangled cables
increase the risk of electric shocks
• Only use extension leads which are intended for outdoor use when you are working with the
power tool outdoors Using an extension lead intended for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shocks
• Always use the hedge cutter with an RCD (Residual Current Device) Using an RCD reduces the
risk of electric shocks
pERSoNAL SAFETY
• Stay alert, think about what you are doing and use common sense when operating the electric
power tool Never use the power tool when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol
