• We recommend that you look through the hedge for hidden objects before you start cutting�
• Always use an earthed power switch with a leakage current of 30 mA or less�
• Never let children use the hedge cutter�
• Be extra alert if there are electric wires in the vicinity of the hedge you are cutting�
• Avoid working when other people, particularly children, are in the vicinity�
• Think about wearing appropriate clothing! Do not wear loose-fitting clothes or jewellery, as
these can become caught in the equipment’s moving parts� We recommend that you use
heavy-duty gloves, non-slip shoes and protective glasses�
• Switch off the motor and disconnect from the power supply before you:
– clean the equipment or remove anything which has become stuck
– check, carry out maintenance or do any other work on the equipment
– modify or adjust the blade’s working position�
• Never touch the blade when you change the blade’s working position (this applies if it is possible
to adjust the blade’s angle or length on the telescopic pole)�
• Always ensure that the hedge cutter is in the correct working position before you start it�
• Ensure that you are always standing in a safe and stable way when using the equipment� This
applies in particular if you are working on a ledge or on a ladder�
• Do not use the equipment if it is damaged or if the blade is extremely worn�
• The noise from the equipment can cause lasting hearing damage� For that reason, always use
ear protection�

important that you pull out the plug and switch off the equipment completely before you
remove cuttings which have become stuck� It only takes a brief moment of carelessness while
working to end up with severe injuries�
• Carry the equipment by the handle� Wait first until the blade has come to a complete stop� Always
fit the guard onto the blade before you transport or store the equipment� You must handle the
equipment in the right way, otherwise there is a risk you could injure yourself on the blade�
• Ensure you keep the cable away from the blade� There is a risk of cutting the cable if it becomes
hidden by branches or similar�
• If the equipment’s power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, or by
someone with similar qualifications� This is to minimise risks�
WARNING!
• Do not use the equipment if you are tired or ill, or if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs�
• Always hold the equipment by both handles when using it� Get a solid grip on each handle�
• In order to always keep control over the equipment, it is important that you do not alter your
grip while working� Check that the handles are in good condition and that they are free from
damp, dirt and lubricants�
• Do not start the hedge cutter before it is has been fully assembled and you have fitted all
accessories to it�
• Losing control of the equipment can lead to serious injury, or in the worst case scenario death�
RESIdUAL RISKS
• Even if you use the hedge cutter according to the instructions, there are always residual risks�
There is always a risk of the following, due to the way the hedge cutter is built:
– risk of being cut
– hearing damage - if you do not use appropriate ear protection
– damage to health due to repetitive swinging of hands and arms - if you do not use and
maintain the equipment according to the instructions
– damage to eyes - always use protective glasses and ensure that people in the vicinity are
not injured by material which could be thrown into their path�
• If you use the hedge cutter for a long time, blood circulation can be affected by the vibrations� It
is however not possible to give a recommendation about how long a person should use the
equipment, as this can vary from person to person� The following factors can affect blood circulation:
