Settings (continued)
Recording Properties
1. Encoding Method shows the current video recording encoding method selected (Figure 9-3) . To change,
select another method from the drop down menu, WMV or h.264.
2. H.264 Quality shows average video recording bitrate. To change, select another value from the drop down menu.
3. SD Quality shows which profile is selected. To change, select another profile from the drop down menu. A
profile is the bit rate at which video records to a file.
4. WMV Quality shows which high definition profile is selected. To change, select another profile from the drop
down menu.
5. Default Segment Time allows you to set how many minutes each recorded video segment will be. To
change, use the up and down arrows to adjust.

System Properties
1. Enable Audible Speech when checked, will provide audible feedback when you tap certain buttons, such as
record, pause, still image (Figure 9-4) .
2. Save JPEG Images when checked, will save both BMP and JPEG images. If unchecked, only BMP images
will be saved. BMP image saving can not be disabled.
3. Display Scope Information when checked, will display the following scope information on the Record page:
Brightness, Working Distance, and Zoom.
4. Language drop down menu allows you to choose from the following on screen display languages: English,
Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, and German.
5. 16:9 HD is the default setting for HD recording (widescreen) . When unchecked, HD video will be cropped to a 4:3
aspect ratio (full screen) .
6. Serial # displays the system’s serial number.
