Cleaning of the heat exchanger
After the winter you will need to clean the compartment where
discharge smoke passes.
This cleaning must be done in order to remove all combustion residues
before time and humidity let them harden and make them difficult to
remove.
It is good practice to provide plenty of ventilation in
the room when cleaning the stove.
CLEANING THE KAIKA STOVE EXCHANGER:
With the stove cold, open the door, pull out the drawer
“M”
, remove
the grate
“N”
with the pellet deflector; slightly raise the back
“H”
(be
careful because it can break easily) and remove it.
Then remove the upper plate
“O”
leveraging on the guides
“X”
in the
lower section with a screwdriver then, on the upper part in
correspondence of the two guides
“Y”
insert the cool hand or another
tool that can be used to lift the plate
“O”.
Incline it slightly to remove it
from its seat.
Using a stiff rod or a bottle brush, scrape the inner walls of the fire box,
inside the "O" plate that was just removed, so that the ashes drop into
the lower ash compartment.
When the upper exchanger has been cleaned, remove the plate
“L”
removing the two screws and then use the vacuum cleaner nozzle to
remove the ash and the soot that accumulated in the lower exchanger
and in the area around the grate “N”. Clean and refit all the
components.
