How to Adjust Speaker Levels
A properly setup Home Theater Surround Sound System
should have all Loudspeaker Sound Levels adjusted to the
same starting reference volume level in the Listening/
Viewing Area and the MHT200 includes a built-in test sig-
nal generator to facilitate the testing. Level adjustments are
made in small steps (1/2 dB) by using the MHT200 Re-
mote Control LEVEL Push-button. The level can be ad-
justed over a ±15dB range.
The MHT200 allows for entering the Loudspeaker Levels
either Manually (Manual-Step or Auto-Step) or totally Au-
tomatic via the supplied calibration microphone. Proceed to
either of the methods below:
Notes: Before performing SPEAKER LEVELS adjustments,
complete the SPEAKER SIZE adjustments first. The
SPEAKER LEVEL On-Screen Display will indicate
NONE for any channel(s) that have been switched off. A
Sound Level Pressure Meter will greatly aid in adjusting
the Loudspeaker Sound Levels when performed
manually. The first time the SPEAKER LEVEL MENU is
accessed, the default settings will be indicated. A chart
on page 30 has been provided to record the settings.

Note: The Left Front Loudspeaker volume level can serve
as a reference. If one or more Loudspeakers are
significantly louder than the other Loudspeakers in
the system, it is advisable to reduce their volume
levels instead of increasing the volume levels of the
quieter Loudspeakers. As the level is increased or
decreased, the display will indicate numbers or
minus numbers.
5. Using the Up

select the CENTER Channel from the Speaker Level
On-Screen Menu. Refer to figure 17.
