Initial operation
Adjust the volume of the audio source to approx.
75% of the maximum volume or to the maxi-
mum undistorted level (visible on devices with
recording level displays and the „0 dB“ marking).
Now adjust the volume to the desired maximum
level using the LEVEL volume controls (2).
After having made this setting, the volume is
controlled using the volume control on the audio
source only.
To switch the system off, first switch off the
amplifier with the POWER switch (1), and then
switch off the audio sources.
Handling
•
Never plug the mains plug into a mains socket immediately after the device has been taken from
a cold to a warm environment. The condensation that develops may destroy the device.
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply. Wait
until the condensation has evaporated.
•
Never disconnect mains plugs from the mains socket by pulling at the cable. Always pull out the
mains plug holding it at the contact surfaces provided for this purpose.
•
Always pull the mains plug out of the mains socket if the device is not going to be used for
longer periods of time.
•
Make sure that the device is sufficiently ventilated when in operation. The ventilation openings in
the front plate and the ventilation openings on the rear side should under no circumstances be
covered up. If installed in a rack system, always remove both rack covers before operation.
•
For safety reasons, always disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket during thunder-
storms.
•
Do not listen to excessively loud music for longer periods of time. This can damage your
hearing.
This setting enables a high signal-to-noise ratio
and provides the best audio quality.
Please keep in mind that the maximum volume
depends on the power capacity of the louds-
peakers and amplifier.
The white peak level displays on the PEAK
LEVEL METER (3) should light up briefly at the
most when the volume peaks.
Excessive volume can damage the loudspea-
kers and amplifier.
The set-up procedure needs to be repeated
with every change to the circuit.
Not observing this sequence may cause crack-
ling noises and damage the loudspeakers.
