3.1 General Safety Instructions for Power Tools
Warning! Read all safety information
and instructions! Incompliance with the safety
information and instructions may lead to electric
shocks, fire and/or severe injuries!
Retain all safety information and instructions for
the future!
The term “power tool” used in the safety
instructions refers to mains-operated power
tools (with power cable) and to battery-operated
power tools (without power cable).
3.1.1
Work Safety
1.
Keep your workplace clean and well
illuminated.
Unclean or unilluminated
workplaces may lead to accidents.
2.
Do not work with the power tool in explosive
atmospheres in which are flammable liquids,
gases and dust.
Power tools produce sparks
which may ignite the dust or fumes.
3.
Keep children and other persons away when
using the power tool.
When being distracted
you may lose control over the power tool.
3.1.2
Electric Safety
1.
The connection plug of the power tool
must fit into the power socket.
The plug may
in no way be modified. Do not use adapters
in combination with earthed power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching power sockets
reduce the risk of an electric shock.
2.
Avoid physical contact to earthed surfaces
such as tubes, heatings, cookers and
refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of an
electric shock if your body is earthed.
3.
Keep power tools away from rain and
moisture.
Water ingressing into a power tool
increases the risk of an electric shock.
4.
Do not use the cable for an unintended
use to carry or suspend the power tool or
to unplug the power plug from the power
socket.
Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp
edges or moving device components. Damaged
or twisted cables increase the risk of an electric
shock.
5.
If you use the power tool for outdoor works,
only use extension cables which are suitable
for outdoor works.
The use of an extension
cable suitable for outdoor works decreases the
risk of an electric shock.
6.
If the use of the power tool in a humid
atmosphere cannot be avoided, use a residual-
current device.
The use of a residual-current
device decreases the risk of an electric shock.
3.1.3
Safety of Persons
1.
Be attentive, be careful what you do and
be rational when working with a power tool.
Do not use power tools if you are tired, if you
have consumed drugs, alcohol or if you have
taken medicine.
Not being attentive when using
the power tool may lead to severe injuries.
2.
Always wear personnel protective
equipment and safety glasses.
