Preparation

1. Check that you have a complete set of the correct components for this

installation, as detailed in the list of parts and shown in the figures above.

2. Make sure that the C

4. Turn off the printer.

5. Disconnect the X M

and the power cable, as shown below.

Installing the Linear Encoder

1. Wearing protective gloves, clean the top of the printer's

BEAM

and the area

next to the C

ARRIAGE

ELT

, using alcohol, as shown in the following two

figures.

Use a clean wipe and alcohol

Clean the top of the printer beam

2. Manually move the C

ARRIAGE

to the middle of the printer.

3. Hold one end of the E

NCODER

CALE

, with the adhesive strip facing down.
