4.1 Selecting indicating modes
After switch-on the indication is in the output mode. A red LED is illuminated showing the
maximum Amps of either 4, 7 or 12 Amps.
The factory setting is 7 Amps. You may change the maximum amperage setting by pressing
the AMPERE / SWITCH OFF TIME-key briefly. Every time you hit the key the indication
jumps to the next setting (4, 7 or 12 Amps).
To set the switch/off time keep the AMPERE/SWITCH OFF TIME – key depressed until all
LEDs start flashing yellow. Select the desired setting by pushing the key repeatedly until the
desired LED is illuminated. The factory setting of the switch off time is 0.4 sec. In case you
want to change back to the output mode indication keep the AMPERE/SWITCH OFF TIME
depressed until all 3 max. Amp LEDs flash in red. When the button is released, the indication
will show the selected maximum amperage by a steady red LED.
In case you kept the indication of the switch off time, the booster will not change to the
regular load indication by itself. After the next switch-on the booster will show the maximum
amperage again.
4.2 Feedback mode
The feedback mode facilitates the communication between the booster and the central
station. In case of a short circuit on either the central station segment or the booster segment
the whole system will go into Emergency Stop. The illuminated blue feedback light indicates
that the feedback mode is ON. To switch the feedback mode ON or OFF keep the STOP key
depressed until the blue feedback light flashes. The factory setting is feedback mode “ON“.
The feedback mode is automatically deactivated if the DCC-In input is used.
4.3 Overload protection
The booster goes into Emergency STOP in case the actual amperage exceeds the preset
limit. This is indicated by the flashing red STOP LED. Remove the cause of the short circuit
and reset the overload protection by pressing the STOP key.
4.4 Overheat protection
The DiMAX 1200B booster is equipped with an overheat protection. The integrated fan starts
depending on the temperature in the housing of the booster. In the rare case that the internal
temperature of the booster exceeds the temperature limit, the booster will shut off the output
stage. This is indicated by the red OVER TEMP LED. This situation corresponds to an
Emergency Stop.
The overheat protection may be reset by pressing the STOP key after the booster has cooled
down.
4.5 No data from the central station
The flashing Power LED („NO DATA“ signal) indicates that there is no communication
between the central station and the booster. The reason for this may be an incorrect or
missing connection to the central station, or the central station is not sending any data.
Please make sure that the supplied booster cable is used to connect the booster with the
central station. In case the DCC IN input is used please make sure that the connection
