Plug one end of the phone
cable into the LINE port on
the modem and the other
end into the phone jack.

Connecting your modem
• Install a phone filter on every outlet in your home
that you will plug a phone into.
• Plug one end of the phone cable into the grey “LINE” port
in back of the modem and the other end directly into the
phone outlet.
Important note
Never plug the ONE-LINE FILTER into the outlet you want to plug
the modem into. If you also want to use a phone on this plug, use
a TWO-LINE FILTER and plug the modem cable into the port that
says DSL and the cable from the phone in the PHONE port.
• Plug one end of the yellow network cable into the LAN1 port in
back of the modem and the other end into the network port on
your computer. You must use the LAN1 port on the modem.
• Plug the round end of the power supply cable into the modem
and the other end into an electrical outlet or a power bar.
• If the modem has synchronized properly, the red light
will turn off after a short period of time, between 30 seconds
to 2 minutes.
