9. TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
The information in Table 9
– 1 describes potential problems and their possible causes. It also
describes checks you can perform or possible solutions for each. After referring to this table, if you
cannot resolve the problem, contact our sales representative.

Check that all CTs and PTs are connected
correctly (proper polarity is observed) and
that they are energized. Check shorting
terminals.
Cannot communicate
with Multifunction
meter from
a remote personal
computer.
Multifunction meter address is
incorrect.
Check to see that the Multifunction meter is
correctly addressed.
Multifunction meter baud rate
(parity, stop bit) is incorrect.
Verify that the baud rate of the Multifunction
meter matches the baud rate of all other
devices on its communications link.
Communications lines are
improperly connected.
Verify the Multifunction meter
communications connections interchange
[A+] & [B-] lines
