This manual describes the correct operation of the shrink chuck. You will find detailed information on how to shrinking and 
unshrinking a tool using the shrink chuck ThermoChuck (hereinafter referred to as “shrink chuck”). In addition, the most im-
portant safety instructions on handling the shrink chuck are explained. 
The installation and operating instructions form an integral part of the shrink chuck and must be kept in the immediate vi-
cinity of the shrink chuck where it is accessible to the personnel at all times. A basic precondition for safe working is com-
pliance with all the safety precautions and instructions for working given in these installation and operating instructions. 
The local safety at work regulations and the general safety regulations for the field of application of the shrink chuck must 
also be observed. Illustrations in these installation and operating instructions are provided for general understanding and 
may differ from the actual design.

The shrink chuck is only allowed to be used by trained, authorised and dependable specialist personnel. The specialist per-
sonnel must be able to recognise and avoid hazards and for this purpose must have read this document before using the 
shrink chuck. 
The health and safety regulations, safety stipulations and instructions from the machine manufacturer are familiar to the 
specialist personnel and are to be followed and observed during operation of the shrink chuck.

•

 

The shrink chuck is intended exclusively for holding and clamping rotationally symmetrical tools on cutting machines in 
industrial applications. 

•

 

The shrink chuck is specially designed for shrinking rotating tools on shrink units and subsequent use on machine tools. 

•

 

The shrink chuck may only be used when observance of all the instructions given in this manual is assured. 

•

 

Should a maximum operating speed exist for the tool, it is not to be exceeded. 

•

 

When the tool is used in combination with a shrink chuck, the lowest operating speed from the individual components is 
to be used. 

•

 

By long, protruding and heavy tools or when an extension is used the max. operating speed is to be reduced in accord-
ance with the individual factures. 

•

 

Failure to observe these instruction can result in injuries or damage to machines and accessories for which WTE assumes 
no liability.

The shrink chuck, the tool or the tool assembly and further components can only be used in compliance with the rele-
vant technical data (see 

section 4.3) and the max. operating speed is not to be exceeded. 

•

 

The shrink chuck may only be used when it has completely cooled down.
