setting in the Setup menu.)
Press the P/N key again to change to the next TV sys-
tem. With each consecutive press of the key, the TV sys-
tem switches.
Notes:
If AUTO TV system selected, it can auto reach the hi-
ghest definition depends on the disc.
If it isn’t full screen state (note: Wide Screen program
would never reach full screen state) or in black andwhite,
press the P/N key to adapt the TV System to the TV set of
NTSC or PAL.
When playing in different TV systems, some discs may
not have their features entirely fulfilled in some certain
standard.
AUTO System is recommended.
Repeat a Specific Segment on the Disc that You Define
(compatible with DVD,SVCD, VCD, CD, DTS-CD, HD-CD
discs)
1. During the normal or fast motion playback, press the
A-B key once, and “REPEAT A-” will appear on the
screen. It indicates the start of the loop to be repe-
ated.
2. During the normal of fast motion playback, press A-B
again, and “REPEAT A-B” will appear on the scre-
en. It indicates the end of the loop. Then looping will
run from set point A to set point B until you turn off
Repeat.
3. Press A-B again to cancel A-B repeat mode with
“CANCLE REPEAT” on screen.
Notes:
When playing a SVCD, VCD, or CD disc, you can repe-
at a specific segment only within one track. When the next
track begins, A-B Repeat turns off automatically.
When playing a DVD disc, you can repeat a specific
segment only in one title/chapter.
Volume Control
(compatible with DVD, SVCD, VCD, CD, CD+G,
DTS-CD, HD-CD,WMA, MP3, MP4 discs)
– You can press the VOLUME key on the front of TV
set or the remote or the amplifier to control the sound
level.
– Pressing the Vol+ key on the remote will amplify the
sound level; pressing Vol- will reduce that.
Notes:
During DVD and DTS-CD PCM output playback, this fe-
ature does not work.
DVD+RW/-RW discs can not be played in a general
DVD player or computer until it be coded withcompatiblity
features.

Symptoms and Correction
No power
Connect the power plug into the wall outlet securely.
Or no press ON/STANDBY/OFF button
No picture
Verify the connection from the DVD video output to
the TV video input. Then switch TV to appropriate
mode (video 1)
Connect the video cable into the jacks securely. Re-
fer to your television owners manual.
No sound
Connect the audio cables into the jacks securely
Verify the connection from the DVD audio output to
the TV or receiver audio input. Then switch to the ap-
propriate source on the receiver. Refer to your audio
amplifier owners manual.
Black & White picture
Damaged S connector (bent pin)
The playback picture has occasional distortion
A small amount of picture distortion may appear be-
cause of a poor quality video/sound transfer to disc.
This is especially true of some discs manufactured
between 1997-1998.
Scratched disc
Brightness is unstable or noises are produced on
playback pictures
