This is the HIT-45 clamp that will be used to install a
mortise lock. It can be used to install a variety of
hardware using interchangeable templates.
There is a backset stud located in the center of the top
and bottom clamp. It will set the correct backset
calculated from the center of the door regardless of door
bevel.
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE USED THIS CLAMP TO ROUTE
THE FACEPLATE—BE SURE TO REMOVE THE
BEVEL BLOCKS, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT
IN A MIS-DRILLED DOOR.
When attaching the mortise lock template to the clamp,
be sure the center hole of the template is fastened to the
center hole of the clamp.
