The DSP7000 is shipped with the Contrast Setting at zero (lowest) in order to prolong display life. 
If it is necessary to increase the Contrast for improved readability, execute the following steps: 

1.  Press ShIFT.
2.  Press SETUP button.
3.  Select SYSTEM
3.  Select CoNTR until desired brightness is reached.
4.  Press ShIFT 2 times to return to main menu.

 

Note:   

Make sure the lowest possible setting is used to achieve desired 
result. Using a setting higher than necessary may cause display 
segments to burn-in over a period of time, resulting in uneven 
illumination from segment to segment.
