5.7 Shadow gap cuts
Take note of the minimum shadow gap width when sawing:
Cutting depth
Shadow gap cut width
without parallel guide
fence Shadow gap cut width
with parallel guide fence
0 - 32 mm [0 - 1.26 in] 13 mm [0.51 in] 14 mm [0.55 in]
32 - 42 mm [1.26 - 1.65 in] 13 mm [0.51 in] 18 mm [0.71 in]
Use the following procedure to cut a shadow gap:
1. Set the desired cutting depth on the machine.
➢ Refer to the table above for the minimum
shadow gap width.
2. Using the pre-feed lever (3), pull open the
movable protective hood and place the machine
on the workpiece to be fitted.
3. Switch on the machine.
4. Push the machine steadily forward in working
direction.
➢ Use a HEPA class suction unit.
5. Switch off the machine after you have finished
machining the workpiece.
