Activation Steps

1.

For wired connections, assign identification numbers to the controls and
SubConnect modules

: In the case of a connection by wire (using the NET-

IN2 card), each control and SubConnect module possesses an adjustable “Unit
ID” parameter. This parameter attributes the control’s identification number.
The “Unit ID” parameter is modifiable on a range from 1 to 40, or from 1 to
250, on certain controls.

If needed, consult the control or SubConnect module instruction manual.

Warning:

The SubConnect module is seen by the WebGate 3G as a single
control with its own “Unit ID”. Controls linked to a SubConnect are
invisible to the WebGate 3G.

It is important that each control or SubConnect module linked to a
same WebGate 3G module possesses its own identification number.

A total of 80 units can be connected in wired mode.

The total of units in both wired and wireless modes cannot exceed 500.

2.

For wireless connections, assign channel and address numbers

: In case of

a wireless connection (using a RF-IN card), each control possesses a “RF
Channel” and a “RF Network” adjustable parameter. The “RF Channel”
parameter is used to adjust the communication channel. The “RF Channel”
parameter and is adjustable from OFF (to deactivate the wireless function), 1
to 16. The “RF Network” parameter allows the user to adjust the network
address, which must be set to the address (RF Address) of the RF-IN card
inserted in the unit coordinating the Wi-Farm network (coordinator).  The “RF
Network” parameter is adjustable from 256 to 32767.

In the WebGate 3G’s case, these parameters are adjustable in the installation
menu using the “Network Settings, RF Network” and “Network Settings, RF
Channel” parameters. Press the “Select” button to edit the address or channel.
These parameters are modified digit by digit by pressing the “Select” button to
pass from one digit to another. You may also see the address of the RF-IN
card connected to the WebGate 3G by viewing the “Network Settings, RF
Address”. To access the installation menu, press and hold the “Select” button
for about 3 seconds.

Warning, as long as the WebGate 3G is in installation

mode, the communication to the FarmQuest server is interrupted,
therefore controls will no longer be checked.

Once in the installation menu,

use the “Menu” button to navigate through the installation menus.

Consult the control instruction manual to learn the exact location of the “RF
Channel” and “RF Network” parameters.
