WebGate 3G Module
The WebGate module by M2M TeleSystems is a versatile communications gateway
designed to link electronic controls to the FarmQuest central WEB server by M2M
TeleSystems.
The WebGate 3G can access the Internet via a standard Ethernet port. This installation
requires a subscription to an Internet service provider (ISP) and a subscription to the
FarmQuest server. To activate your subscription to FarmQuest, you will need the
WebGate activation code found on the inside of the casing. You will then need to connect
to the FarmQuest site (www.farmquestconnect.com) to complete the subscription form.
It is possible to remotely update the WebGate 3G firmware via the FarmQuest server.
The WebGate 3G module will conserve all its data in the event of a power loss or outage.
A total of 500 units (wireless or wired) may be connected to the WebGate 3G.
Wireless and wired modes may be used simultaneously.
Furthermore, several cards and modules can be complementarily linked to the WebGate
3G module (SubConnect module, RF-IN cards and NET-IN2 cards), each having its own
particular characteristics. For more detailed information on one of the available optional
cards or modules, consult the installation guide of the concerned product. In this
document, only the WebGate 3G module will be presented in detail.
Below is a short description of cards and modules you may need to use with the WebGate
3G:
SubConnect G1 and G2 :
The SubConnect
is a communication sub-station on which
certain types of controls (G1 or G2) can be connected. The SubConnect is in permanent
communication with the controls connected to it. Due to the use of different technologies,
type G1 and G2 controls cannot be directly linked to a WebGate 3G. Therefore, type G1
controls must be connected to a SubConnect G1 and type G2 controls must be connected
to a SubConnect G2. The SubConnect
interprets information coming from the controls
and relays the information to the WebGate gateway either by wire or wirelessly
.
RF-IN and RF-IN2 :
RF-IN cards allow the user to connect controls and the WebGate
3G to the Wi-Farm network. RF-IN modules are installed on the inside of the controls or
modules casing.
NET-IN2 :
The NET-IN2 card allows the user to connect controls and the WebGate 3G
by wired link. The NET-IN2 card is installed on the inside of the controls or modules
casing.
RF-XTEND :
The RF-XTEND module allows the user to increase the range of the Wi-
Farm network. The RF-XTEND transmits the information of the controls connected to
the Wi-Farm network wirelessly.
