SAFETY TIPS

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS.
WARNING: To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be observed, including the following.

1.  READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS and all the important notices on the appliance before using the pump. Failure to do so may result in damage

to this appliance.

2.   DANGER

To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken since water is employed in the use of this product. In each of the following situations, do not attempt
to carry out repairs yourself; return the pump to an authorized service facility for repair if it is still under warranty or discard the appliance.

A.  If the pump shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, disconnect the power supply cable and remove the pump from the water.
B.  Examine the appliance carefully after installation. It should not be plugged in if there is any water present on parts that are not intended to be wet.
C.  Do not operate the appliance if it has a damaged electrical cable or plug, if it is malfunctioning or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner. The power cable

of this appliance cannot be replaced: if the cable is damaged, the appliance should be discarded. Never cut the cable.

D.  The electrical outlet should always be above the level of the appliance. If the plug or outlet does get wet, DO NOT unplug the electrical cable. Disconnect the

fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance, then unplug and examine for the presence of water in the outlet.

3.  This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with signifi cantly impaired physical or mental capabilities, unless they have been given supervision

or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.

4.  To avoid injury, do not touch moving or hot parts.
5.   CAUTION

Always unplug or disconnect the appliance from the outlet before assembling or removing parts and while the equipment is being installed, maintained or handled.
When inserting or removing the pump from the water, always pull out the main electrical plug. Never yank the cable to pull the plug from the outlet. Grasp the plug and
pull to disconnect. Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use. Never lift the pump by the cable.

6.   CAUTION:

THIS IS A PET DRINKING FOUNTAIN PUMP.
This pump has been evaluated for use with fresh water only. Do not use this pump for any purpose other than its intended use (i.e. do not use in swimming pools,
bathrooms, etc.).
The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause the appliance to be unsafe.

• Do not use the pump in swimming pools or other situations where people are immersed.
• This pump is suitable for use in water temperatures up to 35º C.
• Do not use this pump with infl ammable liquids.

7.  Do not install or store the appliance in locations where it will be exposed to temperatures below freezing. Protect the pump from direct sunlight.
8.  Ensure that the appliance is placed on a fl at, even surface. Monitor the appliance regularly. Do not leave the appliance unattended for extended periods of time.

Do not allow the pump to run dry. The pump must be completely immersed in water. This pump must never operate outside of water.

9.  If an extension cable is required, ensure the connection is watertight and dustproof. A cable with a proper rating should be used.

A cable rated for a lower number of amperes or watts than the appliance rating may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the
cable so that it will not be tripped over or pulled.

10.  Do not use this unit outdoors. This unit is for indoor use only. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

Only faithful observation of these installation, electrical and maintenance guidelines will ensure safe and effi cient use of this
drinking fountain.

CLEANING: WEEKLY MAINTENANCE

Wash and rinse the fountain using a soft sponge and a non-abrasive cleanser. Rinse
thoroughly, removing all traces of soapy residue. Remove the fi lter from the base and rinse.
Do not wash the fi lter with soap. If the fi lter contains excess debris or other foreign matter,
replace it (replacement fi lters sold separately).
The fi lter should be replaced every 3 months or when there are visible signs that the fi lter
is saturated with foreign matter (debris, food, hair, etc.). More frequent changes may be
necessary due to indoor environmental and water conditions, as well as use by multiple
pets. Should the pump appear to be dirty, open the pump and remove the impeller cap and
impeller. Remove any debris from the impeller and clean the impeller thoroughly using a cotton
swab. Handle the impeller with care.
