Zig-zag stitch
Use the following settings:
•
Stitch pattern rotary switch: 3, 4 or 5
•
Stitch length: 1-4
•
Sewing foot: zig-zag foot
•
Thread tension adjusting wheel: 2-6
The simple zig-zag stitch often is used for seaming, producing
buttonholes, and for sewing in elastic straps.
Whip stitch
Use the following settings:
•
Stitch pattern rotary switch: 5
•
Stitch length: 1-2
•
Sewing foot: zig-zag foot
•
Thread tension adjusting wheel: 4-6
This stitch is used if you want to sew over the cut selvedge of the fabric. Like this, fraying of the fabric
is prevented.
Triple zig-zag stitch
Use the following settings:
•
Stitch pattern rotary switch: 6
•
Stitch length: 1-2
•
Sewing foot: zig-zag foot
•
Thread tension adjusting wheel: 4-6
This stitch is suitable for sewing synthetic fabrics and other materials that easily produce pleats. It is
also suitable for a whip stitch to prevent fabrics from fraying. It can also be used for sewing in elastic
straps, and for repair works. Make sure that a border of 1.5 cm is left; this additional seam is cut off
after sewing.
Triple straight stitch
Use the following settings:
•
Stitch pattern rotary switch: 1 or 2
•
Stitch length: 1-1 0
•
Sewing foot: zig-zag foot
•
Thread tension adjusting wheel: 4-6
This stitch produces a very hard seam, the needle moving two stitches forward and one stitch backward.
This stitch type is especially suitable or gusset seams. Peg the fabric by using pins before you sew
clothes.
