2.3 Terminal
Connection
For connection to a VT100 type terminal for maintenance and administration, a console port with a DB9
connector is located on the front panel. For remote terminal connection through a modem, an adapter cable
from DB9 to DB25 must be used. If ordered with Ethernet card, that card should be plugged into the
designated slot in the rear. The RJ45 connector on the panel of that card is for an Ethernet connection.
The console port is configured as a DCE device. It is designed to match the DB9 PC COM PORT of most
laptop computers. Pin definitions are listed in Table 2-3.
