Changes to the caravan
No changes may be made to the caravan. This
applies especially to parts of the chassis and
type-approved vehicle parts.
Laying up the caravan temporarily
If you wish to lay up your caravan temporarily (e.g.
during the winter months), a few special points
must be noted. Some tips on necessary precau-
tions which should be taken before laying up the
caravan are provided below.
– Park the caravan safely and secure against
rolling. Increase the pressure in the tyres to 3.5
bar or else – even better – jack up the caravan.
This will ensure that you avoid pressure points
developing on the tyres and spare the wheel
bearings.
– Do not apply the hand-operated parking brake.
– Spray the contacts of the 13-pin socket with
contact spray.
– Recharge the auxiliary battery completely and
take out one battery terminal clamp.
– Completely drain down the fresh water and
waste water systems and open the tanks to
permit ventilation. Also drain down the water
pipes.
– Drain the water boiler.
– Drain and clean the toilet septic tank.
– Defrost and clean refrigerator. Leave refrigera-
tor door in partially open position.
– Remember to air your caravan while it is tem-
porarily laid up.
