Liquiflo FTS Transfer Pump User Manual
Series No. FTS300

Removing and replacing rear volute housing shaft seals, volute housing O-ring,
and bearings

1.

Locate the rear shaft seals on the volute housing and remove them using a seal removal tool, hooking it under the
lip of each seal and gently prying upward, Figure 1.

2.

If bearings are to be replaced - Using an ID bearing puller, extract both sets of bearings from the volute housing,
Figure 3. Press new bearings in until they bottom out in the bearing bore.

3.

Be sure you are using shaft seal number 750-1625, Figure 2. Position the shaft seals over the bearings with the
cup facing

up (away from the bearings)

and push firmly into place, Figure 3.

Note: The shaft seals installed in the rear of the volute housing will sit slightly above the chamber face; when
properly installed, the shaft seals will protrude about 0.050"

4.

Identify the volute housing O-ring, lift it from its groove, and discard, Figure 1.

5.

Position and press the new O-ring (size 2-154) into the groove.

• Lubricate the inner lips of the shaft seals with Mobilgrease XHP

™

• Lubricate O-rings and shaft seal OD with Dow Corning Molykote

®

111 lubricant.

• Lightly pack the bearings with Mobilgrease XHP

™
