Chapter 5: Using the Phone Adapter’s Web-based Utility

The Setup Tab

Optional Settings

Host Name and Domain Name

. These fields allow you to supply a host and domain name for the Phone

Adapter. In most cases, leaving these fields blank will work.

MTU

. The MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) setting specifies the largest packet size permitted for network

transmission. Select

Auto

to have the Phone Adapter automatically select the MTU value, or select

Manual

and

enter the value desired. It is recommended that you leave this value in the 1200 to 1500 range. The MTU’s default
value is

1500

When you have finished making changes to this screen, click the

Save Settings

button to save the changes, or

click the

Cancel Changes

button to undo your changes.
