OPERATION

IDEALARC® DC-1000

B-1

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The DC-1000 is an SCR-controlled three phase DC

power source. It is designed with a single range

potentiometer control for submerged arc or open arc

automatic and semiautomatic welding. It can be used

for air carbon arc cutting with carbon rods up to and

including 5/8” (15.9mm) dia. GMAW procedures can

be performed using the 500 amp output stud. This

connection provides the enhanced lower current arc

characteristics required for this type of welding.

The DC-1000 is provided with a three position mode

switch that selects CV Innershield®, CV Submerged

Arc or CC Submerged Arc.

The unit is designed to be used with the NA-5, NA-5R

and NA-3 automatics, the LT-56 and LT-7 tractors,

and can also be used with the LN-7, LN-8 or LN-9

semiautomatic wire feeders.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
