IF62 - IF63
6.2 IF63 receiver's settings and LED
The IF63 receiver module does not require any settings, so it is not fitted with
configuration switches. The number of encoder clock pulses (0 to 99) must be
set in the IF62 transmitter module; then it is transmitted to the IF63 receiver in
addition to the data package. Please take the greatest care in setting the right
number of pulses in the subsequent controller so that it can read properly the
data sent by the IF63 receiver.
An uninterrupted transmission of clock signals by the controller for continuous
encoder reading is not provided. If the target unit sends a number of pulses
greater that the one set in the IF62 transmitter module, then the data is valid up
to the set number of pulses. The exceeding clock pulses will be filled with zeros.
The monoflop time of the IF63 receiver module is lower than 12 µs.
6.2.1 IF63 receiver's LED function
Unlike the IF62 transmitter module, the IF63 receiver module is fitted with one
LED only. The meaning of the LED is as follows:
LED
Operating condition
Power LED
(
green
)
solidly lit
•
The power supply is switched on and the
polarity is correct.
Power LED
(

)
blinking
•
The power supply of the IF62 transmitter
module is switched off;
•
the optical fiber cable is broken or
connected wrongly.
6.2.2 IF63 receiver's error output
IF63 receiver module is further fitted with an error or status output. It is
available at pin 7 of the 11-pin connector. The output is performed as an open-
drain output and active low.
The output can be charged with 50 mA and has an its own internal series
resistor of 51 ohms. The electric strength is 40 V.
For proper operation of the error output, it is important to pay attention to the
polarity of the connected circuit.
