TheconfigurationcloningofLightwareLW3devicesisasimplemethodthateliminatestheneedtorepeatedly

configurecertaindevicestohaveidentical(non-factory)settings.Ifthedevicesareinstalledinthesame

typeofsystemmultipletimesthenitisenoughtosetuponlyonedevicetofittheuser’sneedsandthencopy

thosesettingstotheothers,thussavingtimeandresources.

Cloning Steps in a Nutshell

Installingmultipledeviceswiththesamecustomizedconfigurationsettingscanbedoneinafeweasysteps:

Step 1.

ConfigureonedevicewithallyourdesiredsettingswiththeLDCsoftware.

Step 2.

Backupthefullconfigurationfiletoyourcomputer.

Step 3.

Ifneeded,makesomemodificationstotheconfigurationfileusingatexteditor(e.g.Notepad).E.g.

modifyingthestaticIPaddressisneededwhenDHCPisnotused.

Step 4.

Connecttotheotherdevicewhichhastobeconfiguredandupload(restore)yourconfigurationfile.

Step 5.

Done!Youcanhaveasmanytotallyidentical,customizeddevicesasyoulike.
