Caring for the Upper Oven
To make sure the microwave oven looks good and
works well for a long time, maintain it properly. For
proper care, follow these instructions carefully.
Cleaning the Interior
Over time, stains can occur on the surfaces as the
result of food particles spattering during cooking. This
is normal.
Food spatters or spilled liquids stick to oven walls and
between the seal and door surfaces. Although the
oven interior has an antibacterial coating, it is best to
wipe up spillovers right away.
Crumbs and spillovers will absorb microwave energy
and lengthen cooking times and may even damage
the oven.
Use warm, sudsy water and a sponge or damp cloth
to wipe out crumbs that fall between the door and the
frame. It is important to keep this area clean to assure
a tight seal.
Use only mild, nonabrasive soaps or a mild detergent,
not harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
For stubborn soil, boil a cup of water in the oven for 2
to 3 minutes. Steam will soften the soil. To get rid of
odors inside the oven, boil a cup of water with some
lemon juice or vinegar in it.
Cleaning the Exterior
Use a soft cloth sprayed with glass cleaner.
Apply the glass cleaner to the soft cloth; do not spray
directly on the oven.
NOTE
Abrasive cleansers, steel wool pads, gritty
wash cloths, some paper towels
, etc., can
damage the control panel and the interior and
exterior oven surfaces.
To clean the glass tray and rotating ring,
wash in
mild, sudsy water.
For heavily soiled areas use a mild cleanser and
scouring sponge.
The glass tray and rotating ring are dishwasher safe.
