4.3 Expansion Main Board Unit (EMBU)
The EMBU (shown Figure 4.3A) provides the following:
DKT and SLT Interface Circuits
Ring Generation circuit
External Relay contacts for LBC or General purpose
Alarm Detection circuit
Peripheral Device Decoding circuit
Master Clock Generation circuit
PFT circuit [CO1 the last SLT port(STA8)]
PCM Voice Processing circuit with ACT2 (ASIC, voice switching including DSP) device for PCM
tone generation and PCM gain control.

NOTE
When AC Power was failed, the last SLT port on EMBU will be connected to CO1 automatically.
Even though the EKSU power is turned off while both systems (BKSU and EKSU) are working
properly, the BKSU will restart automatically.
The EMBU is installed in the KSU and provides various kinds of connectors and RJ11 modular jacks for the
connection of peripheral boards and miscellaneous functions (refer to Figure 4.3B and Table).
