2. Safety notes:
3. Function
The device operates with an operating voltage of 24 V DC. When the input voltage is applied at A1 and
A2 for the logic supply, and at 24 V and 0 V for the output supply, the device is ready to operate. The
MSIsafesoft
software can now be used for configuration.
The four digital safe outputs are controlled following evaluation of the incoming signals in accordance with
the configuration created using the
MSIsafesoft
configuration software and loaded to the
MSI 200
programmable safety controller via the USB interface.
Two of the safe outputs can be used to switch the ground of a single-channel load (e.g., of a solenoid valve).
MSI 200
also has four non-safety-related digital monitoring outputs (M0 to M3) which can be used to
control a standard PLC or signaling units, for example.
The two asynchronous test pulses at T0 and T1 enable safe cross-circuit detection at the controller inputs.
All connection terminal blocks can be plugged in. The individual terminal block bases are mechanically
keyed to prevent confusion or connecting them the wrong way round.
MSI 200
comes with a choice of
screw connections or spring-cage connections.
At the right of the
MSI 200
, additional safe extension modules can be added on by means of the DIN rail
connector interface. On the left you can connect bus gateways for non-safety-oriented diagnostics.
• Please observe the safety regulations of
electrical engineering and industrial safety
and liability associations.
• Disregarding these safety regulations may
result in death, serious personal injury or
damage to equipment.
• The device may only be started up,
assembled, modified, or retrofitted by an
authorized electrician.
• The device must be operated in a closed
control cabinet.
• Before starting work, disconnect the device
from the power supply!
• For emergency stop applications, the
machine must be prevented from restarting
automatically by a higher-level control
system.
• The safety function of the device is not
available during a firmware update.
• During operation, parts of electrical switching
devices carry hazardous voltages.
• Danger! During operation, the protective
covers must not be removed from the electric
switchgear!
• In the event of an error, replace the device
immediately.
• Repairs to the device, especially those
involving opening the housing, may only be
carried out by the manufacturer or by a
person authorized by the manufacturer.
Otherwise the warranty is invalidated.
