Appendix A. System memory speed

The Intel Xeon

®

, Intel Core

™

, and Intel Pentium

®

microprocessor families compatible with this ThinkStation

computer feature an integrated memory controller. The memory controller provides the microprocessor
with direct access to the system memory. Therefore, the system memory speed will be determined by
the memory module type, frequency, size (capacity), the number of memory modules installed, and the
microprocessor model.

Notes:

• The system memory speed varies depending on the microprocessor model. For example, your computer

comes with 2400 MT/s memory modules, but microprocessor only supports up to 2133 MT/s memory.
Then the system memory speed will be no faster than 2133 MT/s.

• The microprocessor models supported in your computer might vary. For a list of supported

microprocessor models, contact the Lenovo Customer Support Center.

• To take advantage of the reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) provided by ECC UDIMM, an Intel

Xeon microprocessor must be installed in your computer.
