Chapter 5: Initializing the G8272
77
Default Configuration Files
The switch firmware contains default configuration files that are loaded at the
factory. When the switch first initializes, the default configuration files are loaded
into the active switch memory. The default settings allow the switch to perform
basic functions with minimal effort by the system administrator.
Custom configuration settings made by the administrator overrides the default
settings and can be saved so that they are retained if the switch is rebooted.
However, if desired, you can revert the custom configuration settings to the original
factory defaults. The original factory default configuration files are a permanent
part of the firmware; you cannot deleted them or change their original definitions.
To reset the switch to its factory defaults, you can use one of the following methods:
Use the CLI to reset the switch to factory defaults:
Lenovo Enterprise Network Operating System (ENOS):
Method 1
:
Configure the switch to boot using the factory configuration block:
Reload the switch:
Method 2
:
Delete all flash configuration blocks:
Copy the active configuration to the current (running) configuration:
Note:
This method deletes the active and backup configuration files.
