Error code POST error message Description/Action
CMOS Battery Failure The CMOS battery is no longer
functional.
Replace the battery.
Keyboard error or no keyboard
present Cannot initialize the keyboard.
Make sure the keyboard is correctly
connected to the computer and that
no keys are held pressed during the
POST.
To purposely configure the computer
without a keyboard, set the error halt
condition in the Setup Utility program
to HALT ON ALL, BUT KEYBOARD.
The BIOS then ignores the missing
keyboard during the POST.
Press TAB to show POST screen Pressing the TAB key permits you
to toggle between the default POST
screen and a custom POST display
screen.
Main processor The main microprocessor information
is displayed on the POST screen.
Installed memory: The total size of installed memory
modules is displayed on the POST
screen.
SATA 0: The hard disk drive information is
displayed on the POST screen.

Stuck key
When a key is kept pressed for a
long time, the error message will be
displayed during the POST.
0135 Fan failure The system might be overheating.
Press F10 to exit.
Note: If the problem is caused by the
microprocessor fan, pressing F10 will
not solve the problem.
0211 Keyboard not found When there is no keyboard detected,
the error message will be displayed.
0164 Memory size decreased Press F10 to exit.
1762 Configuration change has occurred This error message is displayed when
a hard disk drive or optical drive
change has been made.
Press F10 to exit.
0662 Configuration change has occurred This error message is displayed when
a floppy drive change has been made.
Press F10 to exit.
