6.4 Welding sequence
Preparing for welding
• Now carry out test welds in accordance with the welding instructions of the material manufacturer and/or
national standards or regulations and inspect the results. Adjust the welding profile as required.
• By pressing the
drive on/off switch (16),
the plastic drive starts extruding the inserted welding rod.
• Extrude some material without welding before the actual welding process.
•
Guide the extruder during the welding process keeping it stable. The preheating nozzle must heat the
surfaces to be welded.
• Never feed the welding rod into both
welding rod insertion points (11)
at the same time. Always operate the
extruder with the welding rod.
As soon as you have switched on the heating (Button 31
Heating On/Off
), you will
see a
dynamic display of the current air and plastic temperature with a prog-
ress bar
(setpoint and actual values).
The plastic drive is still locked.
If the ACTUAL temperature of the plastic is 30°C below the DESIRED temperature,
the 5-minute timer starts. When the timer has expired, the plastic drive is enabled.
The plastic and air temperatures have now been reached. The plastic drive is
enabled.
