1.   Place the gearcase in a suitable holding fixture and remove the 

      4 bolts

that attach the water pump housing assembly to the gearcase.

2.   Slide the pump housing up the shaft, noting the condition and

      assembly order of the water pump parts. 

3.   Inspect and replace worn parts.
