Step 2: Attach Motor Controller
Attach the LP Connect’s smart motor controller to chair frame with (2) self-
tapping bolts. Location is dependent on design of mechanism and chair.
Suggested locations are depicted in Figure 1 below. An optional angle
mounting bracket (3434490001) can be used for additional installation
options (see Figure 2). Be careful not to over tighten bolts.

Step 3: Attach LP Sense Ring Terminal
The LP Sense ring terminal supports the LP Sense touch technology that stops the
motor when any part of the mechanism is touched. If holes are not pre-drilled, drill
a ¼’’ hole then attach the ring terminal to the mechanism with (1) 7x12mm self-
tapping bolt.
Use self-tapping bolts only
– do not use a bolt that fits loosely in
the hole, and do not use a through-hole bolt with washer and nut. The threads of
the bolt must engage with the mechanism to ensure good electrical conductivity.
Be careful not to over tighten bolts.

installation. Location varies depending on style of mechanism.
On mechanism with
an isolated base (metal-to-the-floor mechanisms), the ring terminal cannot be
attached to the base
. Ensure that the cable does not interfere with the movement
of the mechanism and will not be caught in any moving linkages or cross tubes.
